The Summer Book

Susan Branch has been one of my favorite cookbook authors for a while now.  I came across her Christmas book years ago when a book store was going out of business.  Since then I have collected almost all of her books.  She has wonderful stories and home ideas.  Her "Summer Book" has so many wonderful watercolor pictures and recipes in it.  She has a great website too!  She just made it over so it is more interactive.  http://www.susanbranch.com/  You really should stop by and take a look!

Classic Movies

  I love classic films.  There are certain films I watch during different seasons of the year.  I love the movie The Birds (Collector's Edition) even though some scenes are a little gross.  The clothes are amazing.  It's also great seeing some unexpected old movie stars like Jessica Tandy.                                                         

My other favorite film is Rear Window (Collector's Edition).  Again the clothes are amazing.  I love the old horror movies that I can watch without having nightmares.  I'm not one of those people into the "SAW" series of films.  Drop me a note and tell me what some of your favorite summer films are.

Celebrating Home: Decorating for the Holidays and Seasons (Seasons of Cannon Falls)

This is one of my favorite design books.  I found it one day in a little shop.  I couldn't buy it new.  I have a love for used books.  So I rushed home and bought it from Amazon for next to nothing!  The book is broken down into different seasons of the year.  LOVE IT!!  If you get a chance you should take a look at it.

My Life in France

I know everyone else has read this book except me.  I bought it at Christmas and just didn't find the time to sit down with it.  Very excited!  I LOVE Julia Child.

Summer Rental

Next on my summer reading list is "Summer Rental" by Mary Kay Andrews.  Her books are great southern humor.  The first book I read writen by her was "Hissy Fit".  It was the best.  Since then I have read all of them.  Not a bad one in the bunch.  If you are looking for a fun summer, read pick up any of her books.  I would love to hear what you are reading this summer.  So leave a comment and let me know!
